Or it is a setup to distract us from some really horrible stuff that they are doing right now

I'm not convinced this was an "accident" - I think it was on purpose.

Also - drunk-shaming people because they are alcoholics is really low and should be beneath all of us. Addicts are deeply damaged - it's a disease - not a character flaw.

Being a Nazi - OTOH - IS a character flaw.

All of these assclowns were appointed to positions for which none of them had any qualification. If they had been in their departments at an entry level, they would have been taught about the proper handling of secret or otherwise classified information and about the tools they can use to communicate. But each of them was plucked out of a civilian position and dropped into the federal government at a high level. Ignorance magnified.

"Galactically idiotic" is my new favorite term for these WTF times. I will pass that phrase around like a handle of gin at a Hegseth sex-pest party.

Hogsbreath was gonna find the leaker and prosecute!! Too bad for the drunkard, the leaker, was the drunkard!

But, HS!!!

Europe didn’t ask for our help. Hell, who would. Trump creates a crisis so he can somehow take credit for a smoke screen that he knows nothing about yet is C-I-C.

He’ll issue an invoice and the invoice will be returned to sender unpaid for services not requested.

But that creepy portrait, in CO, he could describe and blather on about it! That’s far more important than, ya know, the things he has done.

Breaching national security and incompetence that has already cost more “American” lives than in two WWs! Think about that!

I quotation marked American because I’m citing American servicemen and women only.

1. The worst part is that they recklessly, offhandedly put the lives of our military people at risk by potentially telling the people they were ordering those military people to go bomb that the bombing was coming. The only reason they lucked out and escaped that tragedy was that an editor at The Atlantic was smarter, more responsible, and more patriotic than the Secretary of Defense, the Secretary of State, the Director of National Intelligence, the Director of the CIA, and the Vice President.

2. It was illegal as hell, both the gross security violation of talking about information at that level of classification on Signal, and the fact that they're trying to run the administration off the books by avoiding the legally mandated official channels and venues for this kind of thing, thereby violating the Presidential Records Act that Trump loves so much to talk about without knowing what it says.

When I was in the service, I had a security clearance, because I was responsible - at a much, much lower and more mundane level - for classified information and crypto equipment. I never got near anything this sensitive, because there was never a need for me to know it. But the stuff I needed to access was kept inside safes, under 24-hour watch, inside a vault with a steel door with a combination lock. I had a desk in that vault, and if I'd even left a classified document unattended on my desk there, I'd probably have been relieved for cause and maybe court-martialed.

Notwithstanding the fact that I retired in 1996, if I'd pulled a stunt like this, they'd still be piping sunlight into my cell at Leavenworth on alternate Tuesdays. And I'd deserve it.

Let's see whether any of these jerks (all of whom howled for Hillary Clinton to go to jail over her private email server) are fired, let alone prosecuted. My bet is that if anything, they'll tag some poor luckless staffer to scapegoat, and hang that person out to twist in the wind.

First of all, these idiots should all be fired for this monumental breach. But yet again, here's how our media is failing us: Signal is an encrypted app. All messages are encrypted and cannot be intercepted (allegedly) by anyone outside of the group chat. Not one media channel covering this story has pointed this out (that I've seen anyway). No doubt that's why these guys thought they could do this cavalier lying in the dark. However, Signal is a public domain app, and who knows if it is immune to hacking itself. And furthermore, the NS Advisor, head of the CIA, the DNI, the VP, and others for chrissake should have known that this was inappropriate. They fired every adult in the room, and our national defense is now being run by 5th graders. And the icing on the cake is that when Trump was asked about this, he (probably lying) said what breach, what news? I know nothing about this. Sgt Schulz is our POTUS. God help us.

Putting a known drunk in charge of the military isn't the smartest thing to do. Especially considering lying geriatric Trump says he's a genius and has a "very high IQ."
