As usual, I read all the articles you wrote that I missed. On November 7, 2024, I thought about my favourite scene of LOTR. I went to YouTube to find it and I noticed that people fighting the 4th Reich were commenting below it. It keeps on: people keep posting new comments. As Musk, Thiel and co are the dark side of LOTR and Star Wars, I enjoy this little irony.
There might be a handful of the existing Democrats that are not jaded and willingly surrendering to the insanity, but for the most part, each election in the past has been like a B movie remake. Republicans rape, pillage and suppress voters rights. Dems win next election and spend entire term attempting to fix a couple of Republican policies, but mostly get blocked by the opposition. Republicans win next because Dems didn't accomplish much, and so on and so on. Meanwhile, almost all politicians are controlled by their big money contributors, so until election financing rules are restructured and publicly supported with limited funding, there will be no change. That's my take before the current wacko regime took power. Unless Trump Et al are extricated, my previous points are moot, as there won't be anymore elections.
We MUST move beyond both these parties. There has to be an alternative. The corruption is so deep and so complex that it's impossible to know where to begin. A real opposition leader has to emerge. No one in these two established parties is going to save us. Democrats will continue to beg for money and make big promises for a 2026 election that will never come.
I saw a lot of people including democrats or moderate people making fun of the mess politics is in France with up to 27 to 38 parties at each election including the cats and dogs party. It’s extremely chaotic and I’m not going to deny it. Nevertheless, it gives a large choice for people to vote. It’s very often the case in Europe, with a royalty above the mess or the French president on top of the prime minister.
I used to prefer the UK political landscape. It’s over: the UK is in a loop, whoever is elected except for Brexit which was a useless exercise: it’s not in 2020, I started to see the hybrid war from Russia but from the moment the Labour party became communist under Miliband and then from 2015.
On a positive note, I started my Substack urgently as it seems the U.S. have restarted sending weapons to Ukraine. I need a couple of hours to double check all that. Thanks a lot for your work.
Wonder what the chance is of a coalition government rising out of the ashes

This country is broken. We need a new party to pick up the pieces and look towards the future.
I scroll through the headlines in the Guardian every day and it reads like a cross between the Onion and 1984.
Yep.
