Did you know that in a lot of places in the US, people acknowledge the indigenous ancestors of the land they’re on, before meetings, instead of reciting the Pledge of Allegiance? This is the kind of thing that inspires far right white supremacists and Christian Nationlists to want to destroy democracy and impose thought police on everyone. They hate it when people tell the truth that the far right wants to whitewash. These cultural conflicts are in our faces all the time, and it’s a complicated nation, because America literally IS the whole world.
