The Frankenstein of Unregulated Capitalism Has Its Monster

How Total Greed Syndrome warps reality

The richest man on the planet wants to be a trillionaire. He is halfway to his goal and he will stop at nothing to get there. But then he will stop at nothing to add another zero to his total. And so on — until he owns the world.

That is Elon Musk’s essence, his very nature. He is a messianic narcissist psychopath with no morals, who has created an insulated safe place of sycophancy around himself that, like a strong gravitational force, distorts reality for everyone else. He truly thinks he should be monarch of civilization and has no compunctions about forcing others to think so.

Let’s call this Total Greed Syndrome or TGS. Now, Siri, what does it look like?

This is a child who got what he wanted on Christmas in Pretoria. This is not a man who should be toying with hundreds of millions of lives. But, and this is important, he believes he is destined for this role. As I’ve documented, over more than three years of research, Elon Musk was effectively constructed, or in his father’s words, “instilled,” to be the character in a Nazi’s sci-fi book — a hero who makes Earth “multi-planetary” by setting up shop on Mars — “The Elon.”

In a normal person, this fantasy would have disappeared at 12 years old, which is where the richest man‘s psychology seems to have been frozen, but instead, as he was chauffeured in a Rolls Royce to school, his fantasy was not just entertained but funded, by his father. After skipping out on military service in South Africa, as apartheid was coming to an end, which terrified Elon and his dad, Elon came to America to make his interplanetary colonial fantasies happen.

This is where Musk and two other South African racists of the same amoral fiber, Peter Thiel and David Sacks, met up and probed at the weaknesses in the American capitalist system, because their goal then and now was to destroy it. The “PayPal Mafia” is called that for a reason. It’s an organized criminal conspiracy to overthrow the democratic government of the United States, replace it with tech bro feudalism, and convert the economy to crypto.

In short, after using government welfare to get where they are, they are going to pull up the ladder behind them. And I am trying to tell you, with a straight face, they will destroy it all. It is TGS on steroids.

But wait! Maybe their fellow billionaires will see this small dangerous group of Nazi psychopaths for who they are and be a bulwark against—

Billionaires are all psychopaths, TGS is the entrance exam — not counting Taylor Swift because she actually earned her money and doesn’t use it to destroy people. But she is exceedingly rare in this category. Collecting that much money, and then continuing to do it, no matter who it hurts, is a pathological, misanthropic act. Any one of the billionaires who skulked their way into the whitest inaugural since Reconstruction could lose 99% of their net worth and not feel a thing in their daily lives. Any of them could have pushed back. Nevertheless, none of them have. Literally none.

So, what to do about this? Will the banks or the “institutions” or anyone come to the rescue and prevent the takedown of the American Experiment? Oh you silly goose.

I’ve said this before, but I have never been more convinced, if we are to keep a capitalist system at all, we must turn it completely upside down and tax billionaires out of existence. And while that may sound extreme, just wait until things really get rolling with the Fourth Reich.

The destruction of the environment will accelerate as the actual President yells about how “liquid gold” from “drill baby drill” will create a “Golden Age.” The information environment will be completely controlled by the fascist, illiberal state and its corporate extensions, like the former Twitter and Facebook. Racism, misogyny, and antisemitism will bloom and result in state-sanctioned violence. “Deportations” will end up as concentration camps. Women will suffer more. Trans people will be persecuted. The economy will crash. Wars will break out.

If we survive this four years and there is an attempt at another election, there may well be enough horror, pain, and tragedy built up to make the drastic changes to correct the cancer-ridden husk that remains of the government.

The Chevron ruling which seized the regulatory power of the administrative state for the Judiciary Branch, was the ultimate result of Citizens United. The corrosive money SCOTUS allowed to flow into the election system from that case ate its way all the way down to the bone, eliminating the central reason we have a government — protection.

But to psychopaths, our well-being is absolutely meaningless, unless we make it too expensive for them to keep taking protections, and rights, away from us. And I mean really expensive. TGS is a hell of a drug.

In the end, capitalism is just a way to express competition in a shared economic system. When you take away rules in a competition, the game will always expand to fill the absence of those rules — by definition.

I have compared capitalism to gasoline. If you use a small amount of it it in a highly regulated system — like a car’s engine — it can take you places. But if you poke a hole in the tank and a light a match, you will get a very different result, which we are about to see.

Mary Shelly’s Frankenstein wanted to create life from death, to overcome the limitations of mortality — and instead created a monster. Spoiler alert: it didn’t turn out well for the monster.
