On New Year’s Day, Errol Musk, the father of effectively the new President and richest man in the world, Elon Musk, did an hour and a half long interview with Troy Kearns, a real estate grifter who advertises a “Millionaire Mentorship” and a guaranteed $25,000 to “find, fund, fix, and flip” real estate.

The interview seems like an unlikely match until you hear the common language of money, power, and privilege on a foundation of pure racism.
Errol Musk does not like his ex-wife Maye, and uses her family as a way to disguise his own seething racism. As I reported in 2022, Maye Musk’s father Joshua Haldeman:
“Actually came out to South Africa in 1950. He was someone who had during the war been a sympathizer with the Nazis.”
“I think they thought it was a good idea how Hitler ran the place.”
“They came to South Africa… because South Africa became a sort of extension of Nazi Germany after about 1948… They were Holocaust deniers and so forth.”
But Errol’s quarrel with Maye and her family is not as much about their Nazism, but about the fact that they don’t give him enough credit for being extremely wealthy.
“I hear them, rather really Maye, saying how they didn’t have this, they didn’t have that. She didn’t even know what school they went to. But I took them to school in the Rolls Royce most of the time… Subsequently I used the Corniche to take them to school and fetch them.”
Errol mentions that he grew up a “fanatic” about rockets.
“So we grew up with that and of course we infused that in our children.”
As I reported, Errol previously said that he named his son Elon after “the Elon” — the leader of a colony on Mars in a hard science fiction book by Nazi rocket scientist Wernher von Braun.
When the conversation turns to Elon Musk’s desire to start a company in America — which Errol says he funded by selling a yacht and a hunting lodge — Errol’s own racism is sickeningly clear:
“This was in ‘94 and we had gone over to a Black government. So the way people were looking at the future was get the hell out of here.”
“White people have seen Black people working in banks and all sorts of more complicated jobs and they do such a good job that people have woken up.”
“Where we do have problems is where the Blacks… community just keep all the government, where they run the government. They keep all the departments totally Black, and as a result they don’t function too well. It’s more like DEI.”
“The white people are doing fine. They start all the businesses. It’s not about keeping anybody down, it’s more like just the abilities are more on one side than the other.”
This is the sort of rank racism I remember from decades ago, the off-hand assumption about the inferiority of others that had been going out of fashion — but is now sanctioned by the ruling party in America.
While Elon Musk has previously said his father is “evil,” Errol Musk now tells a different story about a party at SpaceX where his son allegedly said:
“This is my dad. He taught me everything I know about engineering.”
Let me add a simple rule of physics.
The apple does not fall far from the tree.
