You know how in the movies sometimes a person gets shot or knifed but they don't realize it and they keep on walking for a few steps, not realizing they are already dead? I feel like this is the U.S. right now. See you on the beach.

Jim, I just watched Malcom Nance's great rant from today (technologically challenged otherwise I'd do that link thing-but everyone can find it) --he quotes the line from Saving Private Ryan where the soldiers all say to each other, See you on the beach, because they know they're all fighting hard for freedom and the final fight will be there on the beach. Then I read yours. Malcolm Nance is SCREAMING for us to see the fight and fight the fight. That if we have to lose our precious, precious democracy, we should to go down without a fight. This is war. So like in wartime, there's not time to waste being polite (I could write a book about how brilliant you, Jim, are, how generous with your knowledge--but the time is short. See you on the beach.
