This weekend I’m going to show people what Twitter is really like
Anatomy of a harmful Twitter influence campaign
I’m going to need some help getting the message out on Twitter. Please invite people to join us here.
I’m going to start an article today showing the harm troll attacks cause and how they work.
What they did to me has happened to a lot of people. It’s an intentional OP to silence voices they don’t like. We need to shine a light on it.
It’s going to mean exposing myself to content that’s causes me harm. I shouldn’t have to do this. Twitter needs to be able to figure it out themselves. It’s in the open.
So, we have all of their tweets archived. There are about 100 accounts on watch. Tens of thousands of tweets, a majority of which are about lying about me personally in ways designed to cause harm while getting around the Twitter TOS.
As a small example, I did a substack About page last night and almost immediately KassandraSeven edits a phrase out of it to make fun of me.
Here’s the full thing and the part she edited out. This is what they do in a nutshell. They generate chaos and get people mad, then take things you say defending yourself out of context to cause harm.
Now, what’s going to happen is they will screenshot this 👆 to make fun of me more.
In isolation, I would just laugh and move on. But when there are tens of thousands of these tweets over many months, all designed to cause hate and scorn against the target, the harm it causes is IMMENSE. I’m going to describe it. It’s going to be hard. This shit causes trauma, which is the point.
