No one wants to anwer this question -- what does being ready look like for you? We're living through an era where the Democrats did not know how to utilize their power when they had it; in fact, they're afraid to use it and just settled into the satisfaction of bygone eras of propriety. Ain't that something...Trump uses the power he has until he's definitively stopped in his tracks. Our leaders need to learn how to use power. I don't see change on the horizon until the leaders we elected have a come to Jesus moment and see that the thinking that got us here -- WILL NOT GET US OUT! So what's the new template? Can we please write a new playbook.

My parents grew up during the Great Depression (born in 1923) so I grew up re-using, recycling, repairing everything. We lived frugally even tho my dad made good money. This is what being ready looks like for me and my family. I started getting ready almost 2 yrs ago. (FYI-This is the bare bones.) Bought a small freezer, slowly started buying extra groceries until I had a 3 month supply. This includes bottled water & emergency medical supplies. Made plans to move the family if Discount Fuhrer won. He did, so we have made the move to a blue state. We are lucky because husband works remote. Found a liberal social justice church that suits us and has great community amongst its members. Important because our adult kids are queer. Picked a neighborhood with the same thing in mind. Moved money into different accounts-keep some cash on hand in case digital banking goes down. Got everyone a passport before Jan. 2025. Bought extra copies of birth certificates and other docs that might be hard to come by later. We're avid readers, so we already have a library of books, but getting more "how to" books in case internet is not accessible. If I can swing a garden this yr I will do it. I use a Proton VPN and email, downloading important stuff off the cloud, etc. Also part of my getting ready is resistance. I'm an LGBTQ activist, and I protest and make my voice loud, including writing. My dad fought the Nazis in WWII and I damn well won't go down without a fight.

This hit home more than most, Jim. Thank you.

We must remember the heroes that don't have an ACT or BILL passed but perhaps knew their American patriotism would stand strong in their times.

We will RISE. We will never forget and we must never forget the complacency of President Bush in these times.

Trump isn''t the first nor will he be the last, coward. You keep telling your story so I and others may never forget. Bless Flight 93 and us all.

I actually got up and vomited over the remembrance and the terror they must have felt. We are a sick f**king country and not in the 'dude, you rock' kind of way.

Not at all. The fear they must have had and the decision to do what they did is incredible.

Thank you, Jim. As always, the smartest voice. What an image! I thought my stomach couldn't plummet any further down today but the image of us on Flight 93 hit way home. I realised that what Cory Booker did was like a cell phone call home to America like all the people on Flight 93 called and the only thing left to say was I love you. Corey Booker's speech was like that. I LOVE YOU AMERICA. WE ALL LOVE YOU. No time to be polite.

Every senator and congressperson needs to do what Cory Booker did. One after the other after the other. A PRIMAL SCREAM OF NO GET AWAY, STOP DESTROYING US.
