Why We Need Generals, Not Campaign Managers

You cannot defeat psychological warfare with politics

The United States federal government has been successfully sabotaged by its foreign adversaries in conjunction with several domestic movements composed of differing ideologies that all share one common goal—eliminating liberal democracy as a viable form of government. Donald Trump is the carnival barker and the middle man for all these different interests, while branding each of them as his own, and taking a cut of the action.

So, after four months of this chainsawing, America is currently in suspended animation, like the moment Wile E. Coyote sees the ledge has disappeared below him, before being reminded of the laws of gravity.

In my view, there are two related problems.

1. We still, collectively, don’t understand how this happened.

2. Because of that, we’re doing everything wrong.

As a keen observer of this phenomenon, my view is that the way to solve this is by making sure people do understand the reality of the situation, and by responding to it with strategies, tactics and people that make sense in that context.

For some perspective, here are a few pages from the CIA archive on the OSS, the precursor of CIA until 1947. Many of the documents, if not most, concern psychological warfare. The Office of Strategic Services was not just an intelligence gathering agency, it was an intelligence weaponizing agency which had a major impact on winning World War II. These documents were only declassified in 2013.

The OSS helped weaken, destabilize and topple Mussolini, Hitler and the Japanese Emperor. However, it also set the stage for the destruction of the very nation it was created to protect. The OSS created a wall of secrecy between the public and its psychological operations that may have been necessary in war, but in peacetime has progressively corroded trust.

Trust and the End of the American Empire

Every US administration since WWII, of both parties, has intentionally kept psychological warfare out of the public’s realm of common knowledge. PSYOPs, or psychological operations, are considered by many to be a sort of conspiracy theory—and only rarely mentioned in the press as a serious subject. This gap in reality and public awareness has created and enforced a tacit understanding between the US government and the press to frame psychological war, instead, as politics.

Psychological Warfare Is Not Politics

But this enforced ignorance has now created an existential scenario, because for at least ten years, the US population has been under attack by a foreign government, in conjunction with American traitors.

In 2016, Obama allowed the election to be hacked through psychological warfare and active measures. He allowed treasonous elements in his own administration to conceal a devastating foreign attack on American citizens that defrauded them into voting for an immoral criminal conman instead of Hillary Clinton, who, whatever your opinion, was objectively the most qualified person to ever run for president.

For ten years now, the American public has been lied to, misled, and fed half-truths and pablum about this by both the government, and the press. The military has remained silent as well. The brass won’t recognize either the root cause of our collective nightmare or the severity of the damage it has done because they know they have been guilty of covering it up themselves, for decades. And because they want to save the weapon for their own covert action.

As one example of this failure today, from the official DHS account:

This is psychological warfare, being waged against both the population and our institutions. Kristi Noem, who poses in front of concentration camps with a $60,000 Rolex and full makeup, says Harvard is “fostering violence [and] antisemitism,” but also claims it’s part of a communist conspiracy, which is her excuse for illegally trying to take away Harvard’s ability to enroll foreign students.

Of course, this is having the precise opposite effect, as intended. China is one of the main beneficiaries of our self-imposed brain drain.

Another example of how our failure has led to disaster, Mike Flynn is simply performing the same function as he did in the first Trump administration, running psychological operations against Americans—but this time he’s not hiding behind “Q,” he’s just doing “Q drops” himself, in the open.

Here, Flynn boosts a dedicated QAnon account (17=“Q”) which is spreading lies about Joe Biden to benefit Trump and himself, lies being generated by Flynn’s good friend, treasonous lunatic and Q promoter Ed Martin.

“Can you say… VIRAL!!!”

Flynn also has a new “inspirational” propaganda book about himself, to falsely declare his own “innocence,” because Trump gave him a pardon before Flynn pulled off January 6th—using psychological warfare.

What we need to oppose this threat are not politicians or campaign managers. What we need are generals, familiar with the psychological, military and geopolitical roots of this situation, people like Paul Eaton, who said this in 2022:

“The whole PSYOP thing is being developed to a degree that is pretty scary right now… When you’re talking about a reinforcing function of a big tent revival… that is a reindoctrinating event. When you talk about Flynn generating a digital army, every one of those people is a potential foot soldier.”

There are other veterans, like

Adam Kinzinger

, who understand the psychological and informational roots of our problem, but the Democrats at large are still Wile E. Coyote suspended in mid-air, waiting for people like Chuck Schumer or Ken Martin to figure it out, while the ground rushes up towards the rest of us.

This is not a political battle. It is a war, albeit a psychological one—for now. Who is going to lead us to victory? Who is going to come clean with the American people and get us ready to win?
