Protest are great but things need to be ramped up and fast. Boycotts and general strikes need to be next. Not in a month, but ASAP. The lunatics are running the asylum.
Another imperative is for all of us to understand that there is no short or easy way for us to defeat this fascist insurgency. In the words of Trump 2017, “[we’re] going to go through some things.”
This underlines the importance of teaching our children what is happening in America (and broadly around the world) and learning together how to resist the fascist wave, and how to fight back toward the world we want to live in.
Yes, we're going to need a general strike -- paired, I think, with a massive consumer boycott. Anyone who believes that marches and protests -- which, admittedly, feel good and build community, so have real value -- are enough, should look again at the overall trajectory and how fierce and determined Trump's will to power really is. He's going to continue escalating, as with the arrest of the NYC Comptroller today, and working overtime to cow and crush dissent. Organization for economic actions (both strike and boycott) is imperative and urgent.
I couldn’t agree more. Trump is getting crazier and more vindictive by the day. Project 2025 does indicate we won’t be happy with our new masters. They need to be stopped.
