Cui Bono. From the Latin, meaning Who Benefits. In my years of observing the world and making some discoveries and advocacy, when a tragic incident occurred, and things were unraveling; I usually ask who stands to gain from the incident at hand. Getting an idea of who benefits tends to be obvious and usually indicates who wanted this to happen. I also note who is to be blamed for any fallout and ask, what will happen if those who are blamed for the fallout are set to fall on their sword? The answer is not much. The issue at hand is still intact. We are seeing this in real time with respect to the train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio. If you will notice, the complainers are Republicans in Ohio and nearby states who are intent on grandstanding the disaster and airing their grievances. I do not see Democrats and the Biden Administration take inaction and decide to only complain.
Indeed, the GQP is once again using a linguistic reversal as they are prone to do. You will hear them erroneously say that we, the liberals, and egalitarians, do not care about the environment. A sampling of their bile is too childish to even write. Suffice to say, these Republicans try to say they are the ones that care about issues like racism, the environment, the working class, etc. Do not believe the hype. These people who are on the opposition do not care. Their reasoning is at least 2 faced. You and I can guess as to what their desires are. So, again: cui bono. Who benefits? Not us. Then why are we to blame? That is an answer which baffles me. We need to go after these people. Do that, and we can get to the answers.
