I don’t think a severe solar flare would bring about the end of the world, but it might fry a lot of electronics. The Carrington Event of 1859 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carrington_Event) happened well before electronics, of course, but it played merry hell with telegraph systems.
That said, I have absolutely no faith whatsoever in TikTok’s ability to predict when supper will be ready, let alone a catastrophic solar flare.
I'm leaf peeping in the mountains 🍂tomorrow which puts me closer to the sun. If I start getting fried, I'll put out a warning to you all here so you can save yourselves.... If I can get reception, that is. Good luck! 🌞

😂
Shit, is the internet faster than a solar flare? I like your early warning system idea but I’m not sure about the physics. 🧐
I can only do my best, thus the 'good luck' factor 🙃
Maybe walkie talkies. I look into it. 🤔

Newsweek has sadly lost all credibility.
Newsweek is now like Mad Magazine, with mad meaning wholesale forfeit of reality.
