I don’t think a severe solar flare would bring about the end of the world, but it might fry a lot of electronics. The Carrington Event of 1859 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carrington_Event) happened well before electronics, of course, but it played merry hell with telegraph systems.

That said, I have absolutely no faith whatsoever in TikTok’s ability to predict when supper will be ready, let alone a catastrophic solar flare.
