They’re Not Hacking the Machines, They’re Hacking the Voters

This is what a failing nation-state looks like.

There are two alternate realities to worry about. The 41% who want to vote for Trump despite everything, and the 39% who mostly seem content to giggle along with the latest saucy testimony from Stormy Daniels. The 10% voting for RFK Jr. are in a whole different universe.

Our adversaries have created a large infrastructure capable of brainwashing people at scale. And we refuse to acknowledge it. The Russians may not be hacking the voting machines, but the Russians are hacking the voters.

To review: A Russian mafia asset on trial for not reporting hush money in 2016 to help steal an election, who tried to steal another election through violence, who promises dictatorship, quotes Hitler, and rapes women, has 41% of the vote less than six months out, narrowly leading Biden.

How is this happening? Trump is only an avatar at this point—a martyr and a symbol for everyone who wants to burn it all down. He can go away anytime and this nihilistic, contagious sickness will just get worse. It’s no longer a personality cult. It is a death cult.

The MAGA, “QAnon”+ & “Christian Nationalist” movements have merged and are sucking in other adjacent groups as well—for example, a significant swath of self-described libertarians, “anarchists,” “boogaloos,” “dirtbag left,” and other accelerationists see Trump as a means to an end.

In the meantime, the alternate reality of this election being presented by the corporate media is a back and forth of a salacious trial in NY state court. It’s not democracy vs. fascism in this fantasy world. It’s a porn star vs. Donald Trump.

We’re being involuntarily transported back to when he won, by cheating, in 2016.

The question is, what will pierce this veil? What will raise the public consciousness about the cliff we’re about to go over, again? Who will be the new Stormy or Fani to distract the masses from seeing the Monster right in front off them?

The people in the media covering this retro-shitshow of a trial 24/7 may think a guilty verdict will change voters’ minds. They may rationalize that covering every lunch break in state court is important because it will all have an effect on the election.

That is naive, at the very best. The voters all know who Trump is. They know he’s guilty of it all. But the ones voting for him have been brainwashed not to care, or to see these as positive characteristics.

Every person in America outside the 41% knows people who have been captured by this foreign-backed death cult that masquerades as a patriotic “America First” movement. People previously repulsed by people like Trump, RFK JR. and Flynn have been stolen by psychological warfare and converted to enemy soldiers. We all know them now.

It’s still possible to stop this train but it’s going to take everyone coming together—and for the government to give us some air cover, by recognizing this threat, and by starting to bring people to justice for the treason they’ve committed and continue to commit, in the open. If our institutions keep hiding from it, we will lose.

If we allow ourselves to get divided as a pro-democracy movement, or fail to apply enough pressure to get action from law enforcement, by next January we may no longer be a failing state. We will have been the generation in which this Grand Experiment in democracy, failed altogether.

I, for one, don’t plan for that. My grandkids are going to grow up in American democracy, or I will die fighting for it.
